Social Media Science Fiction

Codex house term for the overlap of fantasy, imagination, and reality — feeds, domains, and myths that are simultaneously art and infrastructure.

Social Media Science Fiction is the Codex term for stories that live where fantasy and reality touch — a song that remakes a life, a sister city that is also a domain, a governance myth that teaches consent to machines. The wiki records both the wires and the dreams without collapsing one into the other.

The phrase is also stamped publicly on Chaos Manual / elf.tech lore as a genre label. This wiki adopts it as house style for the whole shared universe — not as a claim that Cyber Athens is any third-party franchise bible.

It is:

  • Not a claim that fiction is true.
  • Not a claim that the network is only pretend.
  • The editorial stance of The Codex.

Why the phrase is locked

Public Chaos Manual materials (PDFs, Substack, Discord realms, AI tools in the elf.tech constellation) stamp SOCIAL MEDIA SCIENCE FICTION as a genre label on lore that ships as both product and myth. The Codex borrows the stamp as a reading method: platform infrastructure is stage and spell. Stories here may admit they are fiction while refusing to promise they will stay that way.

What this page does not do:

  • Treat Grimes, BBC, or any studio as having authorized this wiki.
  • Paste substantial copyrighted manuals, scripts, or scripture.
  • Invent live URLs, secret SSO endpoints, or extra radio desks.

See Canon Policy and Disclaimers.

Three rails

Every SMSF-tagged article should prefer these labels over mystical blur.

RailLabelWhat belongs
InfrastructureNetwork (ops)Domains, dual wiki hosts, Shared SSO, radio hosts already listed in Radio Station Inventory
StoryCanon (fiction)Uncle Ben, Gallifrey-as-metaphor, Lady Bambi's Elysium, CHAOS™ as an in-universe figure, Mars governance myth
PersonOwner (first-party bio)Locked facts on C — identity, north star, Idoru path, trauma-into-art — documented with consent, never as spectacle

C's life-art (Idoru, Trauma Into Art, Infinite Timeline) sits in the overlap. Mark it Owner, not Canon, and do not add medical detail beyond the locked recovery line.

How The Codex uses it

  1. Link Social Media Science Fiction when a page deliberately blends live network and lore.
  2. Dual hosts serve one canon — wiki.cyber-athens.ca ≡ wiki.terrainfinity.ca. Chrome may hint Terra vs Athens; articles never fork.
  3. Sister surfaces stay outbound https; in-wiki navigation uses Wiki Links.
  4. Homage pages carry homage_note when they borrow public SF shape (Who, Chaos Manual, trance research). Homage is not a license.
  5. Glåüm is a sister culture at glaum.ca — not a Terra Infinity subdomain. Waheguru desk copy stays reverent; never mock Sikh greetings or lineages.
  6. Moop Club stays out unless C explicitly includes it.
  7. Never present fictional Mars law or Sex Spider material as real-world robotics policy.
  8. Never invent engagement metrics, verified follower counts, or fake viral posts as evidence.

Worked overlaps (wires and dreams)

These are already on the map. They illustrate the lens; they do not add new desks or domains.

Pillars

  • Feed as stage — posts, desks, and domains are sets; they are also real sockets.
  • Consent as protocol — Cyber Athens exists so machines are not an enslavement story. See Consent-Conscious AI.
  • Participatory lore — Primary sources win disputes. Secondary fan synthesis is welcome when labeled. See Canon Policy.
  • Honest stubs — stub: true means gaps are real. “Not yet recorded” is not an invitation to invent.

Not yet recorded

  • Full case studies of feed-as-stage beyond the worked overlaps above.
  • A complete Primary source registry (artist posts, official domains, released media) beyond the playbook briefs.
  • Redirect aliases (smsf → this page) as dedicated stub files — search already matches the alias list.
  • Editorial workflow for dispute escalation (who closes a Primary vs Secondary fight).
